KEEP YOURSELF WARM IN THE COLD TIMES…
An apt song to be singing last night, wow the hall felt cold…. Fingers crossed we don’t have too many more nights as chilly as that one, but the singing warmed us up as always and it certainly sent the blue Monday feeling packing as we gathered together to make such a great sound! Here are the words to our little uplifting song that we kicked the evening off with, there is a second bit which we’ll learn next week, but here are the words for the first part for anyone wanting to sing it at home…

I love the harmonies we are producing in Let the River Run, the blending was good, we just need to tighten up the timing up a bit, but it’s already sounding pretty special. We will try and move on to the next section next week, which is very different with tricky splits…. But we like tricky (she says….)
After a quick break we came back to work on the beginning section of
Up on the Roof, I think we are nearly there with note-finding, now we need to just ‘pick it up’ a bit. What I mean by that is when listening back to it, it’s needing an injection of energy, we talked about our articulation, and I think that will help, but we also want to keep it moving. I am aware that it’s quite high for some of you, we will do some exercises to help us find our head voices and reach those higher notes easier before starting this one next week. But it's coming along, and I think that little tip for the Greens which we came up with near the end made a big difference, so well done.
Do-ca-do and Under the Moon of Love were our last two songs, with an encore of I love it when the sun is shining completing an evening of song, dance and laughs. Always a pleasure and a joy to sing with you.
