REUNITED… AND YES, IT REALLY DID FEEL SO GOOD!
I won’t pretend otherwise — for a few reasons (the main one involving an unfortunate encounter with a rogue tennis ball in a car park and a rather dramatic meeting with the ground), 2025 wasn’t my finest year. And as a result, 2026 didn’t exactly burst out of the gates either. Shoulder surgery is not something I’d recommend, and there were definitely moments when I wondered if I’d be able to get back to doing what I love — leading choirs.
Fast forward four months… and boom — we were back.
I’ll admit, I felt pretty anxious stepping out in front of you all again, full of self-doubt. And I know some of you were feeling a bit the same. But it didn’t take long, did it? One breath together and suddenly we were right back in that wonderful place that only group singing brings. It really was a special evening — thank you all for that.
I’ll keep things fairly brief this week. Here are the recordings — do try to give them a listen once or twice to help those new harmonies settle in. We’ll likely revisit Water, You Are the Reason, and Harbour next week, and keep building on The Chain, so it’s worth giving that one another run-through if you can.
Have a look at the karaoke song list below — first come, first served for choosing what we sing next week, so drop me a message on WhatsApp. If there’s something new you’d love to add, I’m all ears… just remember, if nobody else knows it, you might be treating us to a solo!
Please do spread the word about the choir — we’d love to welcome a few more voices, especially sopranos and basses. For the next few weeks, feel free to bring a friend along for free (just give me a heads-up beforehand). They can join in, or simply sit by the bar and see what it’s all about.
I’d also love us to do a little local performance at some point to help get our name out there, so if you’ve got any ideas or connections, do let me know.
And finally, a gentle nudge to sort out your folders — it’s always nice to have everything to hand, especially when we fancy revisiting an old favourite.
See you next week!
