SUMMER WORKSHOP No 1

Right then lovely people... here are the recordings from our Forever Country workshop!🤠🎶

Part 1 is where we worked through the medley bit by bit, pulling it apart and putting it back together again. It's well worth having a listen when you're practising at home (I know... homework over the summer holidays – how very dare I! 😄), especially when we're going over your own part. Hopefully it'll help jog the memory when September comes around.

Tenors: I've made a little tweak to your ending. Don't panic – there'll be an updated song sheet waiting for you in September. All you really need to know for now is that you join the men for the final section.

Part 2 is our full sing-through at the end of the day. Considering we'd already spent nearly two hours singing our socks off, I think we did a cracking job. We actually get off to a really strong start!

The ending, however... well, let's blame the backing track! 😂 It slows down so much that it ends up feeling like it's driving with the handbrake on, so we abandoned it and carried on a cappella. That's why things get a little... creative towards the end. Please don't listen to that bit and think, "Oh no!" With Gel playing for us, it'll be miles easier, and that ending will come together in no time.

There's still a little bit of polishing to do – mainly squeezing all those words into the Whitney section without tying our tongues in knots – but honestly, the progress we made in one day was huge. You should all be really proud of yourselves. I certainly am.

Have a listen whenever you get a chance, sing along in the car, while you're cooking, walking the dog or annoying the neighbours... whatever works! 😊 The more familiar it becomes, the more we'll be able to enjoy performing it instead of worrying about what's coming next.

Thank you all for your hard work, your enthusiasm and, as always, for making it such a fun day. Roll on September 21st – this one's going to be brilliant!
