WHAT A SCORCHER! ☀🥵
I'm not going to write too much about this week's choir session because, quite frankly, it was hot, we were hot, and I think the heat had melted most of our brain cells by the time we finished! 😅
That said, despite the soaring temperatures and slightly wilted appearances, you all still gave it your best, which is hugely appreciated. I know I'm asking a lot of you at the moment with two fairly challenging arrangements on the go, so if you ever find yourself feeling a bit lost or overwhelmed, please do let me know. We can always dip into our trusty karaoke folder and enjoy a few familiar favourites to give our brains a well-earned rest.
Learning new harmonies is tricky enough at the best of times, and a mini heatwave certainly doesn't help concentration levels! But bit by bit, it's all coming together, as you'll hear when you listen back to You Are The Reason. There are some really lovely moments emerging.
Next week we're going to revisit As I Sing, the beautiful a cappella piece we performed at our last concert, to help celebrate Liz's birthday. Please dig out your copies if you can (don't worry, I'll bring spares too).
Over the next few weeks we'll also be revisiting — or, for our newer members, learning — the songs we'll be performing in our November concert. If you could bring these along each week and perhaps have a quick listen to them on the website when you get a spare moment, it will really help jog those musical memories!

Please keep an eye on the WhatsApp group for updates about our little trip to Lakeview Grange. At the moment, it looks as though Wednesday 15th July in the afternoon is the date we're aiming for. I know not everyone will be able to make it, and as Mary pointed out, there isn't room for everybody anyway! I've gone with the date that seems to suit the most people. Hopefully this will be the first of several visits.
Here's hoping for a much cooler choir session next week — although if the weather has other ideas, I may have to add "portable fans" to the essential choir equipment list! 😄
