AND THAT’S A WRAP! 🎶
I can’t believe how quickly the last four weeks have gone. We’ve packed SO much into the sessions and learnt loads along the way. Here are the recordings from this week, so you now have all four weeks to dip into from time to time, along with all the learning tracks on the website, to keep you on your toes!
All of this should keep us nicely warmed up and ready to go when we return on 21st September for just seven — yes, SEVEN! — weeks of rehearsals before our big concert. 😱

This last week was very much about consolidating everything we’ve been working on over the month, but we did have a little play with Pokarekare Ana, working on our volume control and adding a lovely little humming intro, expertly hummed by our altos, tenors and basses. 🎵
Altos, we talked about bringing out your inner actor when singing Forever Country. We have our country gals singing Country Roads, and then suddenly we have to completely change our personas for the I Will Always Love You section.(Check out Dolly's version)
With the sad passing of the amazing country icon Dolly Parton, it feels especially poignant to listen to her singing this iconic song with such gentleness and emotion. This is the Dolly we can try to channel whenever we sing those sections. I think Jolene and Forever Country are going to feel even more special when we perform them on 7th November. RIP, beautiful lady.
A huge THANK YOU to every single one of you for your energy, enthusiasm and hard work over these four weeks. And for those of you who couldn’t make the workshops, I hope you find time to listen through the recordings and enjoy them as much as we enjoyed making them.
The feedback has been incredible and genuinely very heart-warming, with lots of requests for more of the same — so watch this space! 👀
